Fantasy Game Night will take place at the Whitney Workshop beginning again in September 2017.

In addition to Mordheim, we encourage players to bring any games of interest like: Magic, Star Wars X-Wing, Star Wars Armada, Infinity, Dungeons and Dragons or any other game you would like to share.

We meet monthly on a Friday night to play and share expertise. Bring your band of warriors. Bring friends. Bring snacks.

We have set up the whole year's schedule below. We will try to adhere to this schedule and will continue to send out reminders, but if there is a change for any reason, we'll let you know as much ahead of time as possible. Meantime, block out these dates:

Sep. 22, 2017
Oct. 20, 2017
Nov. 17, 2017
Jan. 19, 2018
Feb. 16, 2018
Mar. 23, 2018
Apr. 20, 2018
May 18, 2018

The club will meet the third Friday of every month unless a holiday interferes.

For this program to continue, we need your support. Meaning we would ask all of you to become Members of the Whitney Workshop (or renew your memberships) as a $45/year Family Membership. We are also asking for a $5 per session fee to cover any expenses that we incur for materials and supplies etc. We believe this will cover it.

So, please sign up online to become a Member. If you are already in our database or believe you are already a current Member, you can give Naseema a call (203.777.1833)to check to see if you are currently a Member and/or when your membership expires.

The $5 fee should be collected each month when your Gamer comes to the program.

Thanks for being part of the Museum family,

In addition to Mordheim and Warhammer, we've added Magic: the Gathering and Dungeons and Dragons to our repertoire.

Mordheim and Warhammer are strategy and luck-based games played on a large landscaped board, where two or more players face each other in simulated tactical battles with war-bands of miniature figurines.

Magic is a deck-building game where two or more players battle against each other using cards representing a variety of spells, landscapes, and monsters.

Dungeons and Dragons is a fantasy role-playing game where players interact with each other through a storyline developed by a special lead player, the Dungeon Master.

These games are suited for kids ten and up. The rules can be a little complicated. Below that age, the rules can be difficult for them.

Some knowledge of one or more of the games is also advised.

Parents should be cautioned that these games are largely based around conflict (simulated by statistics and dice). We foster an environment of shared fun and friendly competition. But the competitive spirit isn’t suitable for everyone.
