How does a computer program work, and how can we make them function more efficiently? These tasks are done by writing code, and using logic to solve a problem.

In this 4-week workshop, students will protect villages from hordes of ogres, level up their characters and unlock new equipment in Code Combat, a popular RPG-style fantasy game that teaches how to write and understand real, typed code. Students will learn the basic to more complex methods of computer programming in the language of Javascript, while solving small to large-sized puzzles through trial and error.

All code in this class is typed, and will require a good amount of patience and concentration! Some knowledge or interest in code is very helpful and highly recommended for this class.

Age 11 and up.

An email address is required to use Code Combat. If you don't have one, we can help you sign up for your first.
