How do you learn to weave? By doing it of course.
How do you learn to sew? By doing it also!
There's nothing more satisfying than making something from scratch and then wearing it. (Except maybe learning how to make Martha's cookies and eating them.)
Master Weaver and sewer Martha Burns will guide each camper to weave 6 lengths of fabric on our table looms (pre warped with various patterns and colors.) They will then assemble and sew those pieces into their own hand-woven poncho. Surprisingly, there are 3 very different ways to do it. Each camper will choose just one way and cut and sew the pieces together on our Janome sewing machines.
Voila! Poncho!
