Lego©, KRE‑O©, Sluban©, Built-to-Rule©, MegaBloks©, Super Blox©... everybody wants to be your favorite building block. Which do you like best? Each brand has its selling points. And each is built to a standard size within its own environment. Standardized, interchangeable parts mean that you can mix and match. And they are easy to replace and easy to imitate. If you could make your own, what special block or miniature figure would you design?

Learn basic Computer Aided Modeling, or CAD, using TinkerCAD, Autodesk's powerful but simple web-based modeling tool. Prototype your own custom block and a mini figure in CAD. Then 3D print your best design in plastic with our Makerbot 3D printer and try it out. What could be a better introduction to CAD programs than to have a 3D model printing out in front of you?
