SculpyTM is a colorful, flexible building material that can make and then (with a little baking) hold fine details permanently.

Corals are sea animals that are colorful and flexible. Their colonies form reefs that hold to the sea floor and host thousands of marine species. Global warming is threatening the reefs.

Construct a model coral reef with the fish who live in and around this architectural sea wonder. Make a lobster to include in your reef. Lobsters and other predators are integral and threatened parts of the reef system that prevent the proliferation of coral eating snails and worms. Investigate schools around the country who are actually doing something to support the repopulation of coral in our seas.

Dana Clough, museum manager and former apprentice ran the lobster hatchery at Sound School. She helped bring lobsters through from eggs on the mothers to the instar stages (before they look like lobsters) to juvenile lobsters.
