The "Hour of Code" is Code.org’s introduction to computer programming. Learn the basic concepts through drag-and-drop programming with tips and lessons from professional coders. You’ll start by guiding a character through a maze using repeat loops, conditionals, and basic algorithms: everything new programmers need to write their first programs.

When you're ready, move on to develop your own simple game with MIT Media Lab’s Scratch, which allows you to create interactive stories, animations, games, music, and art - and share your creations on the web. You will need an e-mail address (either your own or a parent's) in order to share your work online. Or, you can bring your project home on a USB drive or CD.
