Designed at the MIT Media Lab, Scratch is a free web-based programming language that allows you to create your own interactive stories, animations, games, music and art - and share your creations on the web. You'll learn all the basics, like drawing and animating characters, or 'sprites', adding sound, and movement. Then put them to work and tell a story or build a simple game. You can bring your project home on a USB drive or CD.

You will need an e-mail address (either your own or a parent's) in order to share your work online.

A Beginner is anyone 8 - 9 yrs who has not yet learned Scratch or has only had 1 class before and wants to refresh their beginning skills.

Sept 21, 28; Oct 5, 12

Fee for 4 week session (1.5 hours each): $108 (members $97)

Classes will be combined or cancelled if minimum enrollment not achieved.
