Engineer's
Week Leonardo: the
dance of design
Classic
challenges from Leonardo the inventor of inventors, adapted for
novice and experienced engineers. Around the core project there
are games, drawings, new techniques and experiments.
1.
Monday: leonardo’s
horse: sculpt a horse; lift its head, tail and hooves;
rock its rider.
2.
Tuesday: dance of
the crane: construct a crane to capture, lift, place,
and release bb’s.
3.
Wednesday: talking
drum: construct a melodic drum with adjusting pitch
& voice. Guest percussionist: Pat Smith.
4.
Thursday: on wing:
recreate the elegant movements of Leonardo’s bold vision
of flight (with a motor)
5.
Friday: archimedes’
elevator: lift, catch choreograph and return marbles
(with a motor.)
Fee per day: $50 ($45 members)
Fee per week: $230 ($200members)
Goggles $2.65 (tax included) will be required
of all students. |
