One of our best projects of the year found a new way to organize the 'alphabet' of mechanical movement – movements that, like letters, can be combined in infinite original combinations.
Energy is often collected and distributed in a turning motion. Designers have invented ways to change the speed, direction and shape of that movement. Choose 5 classic movements to master. Then invent ways to put the movements to work.
Our source, H.T. Brown's 507 Mechanical Movements, is still in print and useful more than a century after it was first published. Watch our CNC router (applying dozens of classical movements) cut gears for your work with breathtaking precision.
