Does a robot have a mind? Can it think?

It can, in a way - a robot (or a computer) knows a limited set of simple functions. It doesn't think for itself, but it is very good at following your instructions. When you combine those instructions in a series to accomplish a complicated task, you are programming a robot!

Learn coding concepts such as sequences, looping, and conditionals by making programs to guide an animated robot through a series of puzzles, mazes, and challenges. RoboMind Academy is geared for a range of skill levels: older beginners can jump right in to a typed language, while younger beginners may prefer to use the "remote control buttons" to program their sequences.

We will be using the web-based program RoboMind Academy during this workshop. An email address is required for registration.

A full year license for RoboMind Academy is included in the cost of this program. We also will be making use of online tutorials which will require headphones for each student. Students may bring their own with them, or if they need to use ours, a purchase fee of $7 will be charged, and they will take them home at the end of the 6 week program.
