Masks celebrate simplicity.

Artists from Alexander Calder to Andy Warhol have applied their gifts to improvising clever, quick disguises – masks for the moment. Play with artful tricks that the masters created. Then invent your own. Who will know?/em> We will photograph yoru work during the day and collect and print the images: a catalog of your experiments.

Minimal: a scrap of paper over your nose after Alexander Calder.
The Eyes Have It: draw eyes and lashes on gloves to adorne your eyes; draw a face on your hand.
• Recycled/repurposed: milk jug masks, toilet paper tubes, paper cups and caps.
Found Objects: funnels (snouts), fruit (eyes), strainers (whole faces).
Paper Bag Masks: glorious constructions inspired by the illustrator Saul Steinberg.
