Feeders influence the world of birds. You must understand the habits and needs of the birds you wish to help. Which seeds are most nutritious? Which bird likes which seed? Are there things that I should not serve? Where should I locate the feeder?

So many birds, so many rules you need to understand.

Meets Connecticut Science Standards

  • 3.2: Organisms can survive and reproduce only in environments that meet their basic needs.
  • 3.4: Earth materials provide resources for all living things, but these resources are limited and should be conserved.
  • 4.2: All organisms depend on the living and non-living features of the environment for survival.
