This is a perfect week for birds in the Park. On an early walk, spot up to 10 different bird species. Then make a Fandex to show the colors, habits, and songs of five.
Follow a chapter from Peter Goodfellow's beautiful Avian Architecture: How Birds Engineer and Build, (Princeton University Press © 2011) to construct an artful nest to see just what each bird is thinking…and how skilled they are.
Construct a Nest Depot to share fibers with the birds in your neighborhood to construct and decorate their nests. Or build a Wren house or a Warbler house. (A gift to the birds, and/or a nice Mother's Day gift.)
