The Galaxy is in trouble! Unless the Starship Pirouette & its brave crew can reach Knowplace, the Galaxy is toast! But the Guardians are lost in deep space, surrounded by deadly, drifting asteroids on every side. They need your help to get moving.

Learn coding – or hone your skills – by using "Scratch" to reprogram the ship. First, add a rocket engine to avoid the dangerous space rocks. Add a laser to vaporize them to dust. Then bring the challenge to a new level by adding alien ships that fight back. Remix features from classic games like "Asteroids" and "Captain Skyhawk," or one of your own favorites.

[MIT's Scratch makes programming accessible by replacing typed commands with simple snap-together logic blocks. Create your own interactive stories, animations, games, music, and art - and share your creations on the web. You will need an e-mail address (either your own or a parent's) in order to share your work online. Or, you can bring your project home on a USB drive or CD.]
