Four hundred years ago this month, an Englishman captaining a Dutch ship set out to find a northwestern passage to India. Instead he found an island that would be named for its native inhabitants: Manhattan, and a river that still bears his name and a sad end.
Construct a three masted Half Moon that carried Henry Hudson to a new world. Construct the canoes of the people he encountered and often betrayed. Follow his voyages on Google Earth. Follow his tale that ended in fame and misfortune.
