So many of Leonardo’s great inventions make excellent toys that we can con-clude that play and invention are kindred arts. Construct the first wind-up car, the first wind-up boat, a sidewalk chalk compass, bubble pipes, a squirt gun, a pea shooter, trick mirrors and a helicopter. Construct a box to store the toys. Decorate it with Leonardo’s drawings that inspired the work. Batteries included.
