120 year’s ago, when your grandparent’s grandparent was a child, Joshua Slocum set off alone to sail around the world in a 36’ boat all alone. He would be the first to conquer that goal. His account Sailing Alone Around the World has thrilled generations of adventurers. It’s still in print. His sloop The Spray is the most replicated of small craft.

Construct your own Spray.
Rig her with sails that, like Slocum’s, will self regulate. Equip her for adventure. Follow his journey from daily passages taken from his accounts, and his route on Google Earth. Recreate sights he saw. Learn the arts of navigation (compass and dead reckoning) he had to master just as the age of sail came to a close. Sail her on the Mill river.
