Everybody knows Christopher Columbus' legend. They say that he was the visionary explorer who "gave the world another world." We can all do the same thing. But, computer programmers don't go exploring for new worlds. We create our own from the ground up.

In this workshop, learn Scratch, a simple web-based programming language developed in MIT's Media Lab. Make characters, or "sprites," who soar through the stars and land on brave new worlds. You can create your own story, animation, music, and art - and share your creations on the web. You will need an e-mail address (either your own or a parent's) in order to share your work online. Or, you can bring your project home on a USB drive or CD.
